A practical operating model
AI should begin with a measurable business problem: slow response, missed after-hours enquiries, inconsistent qualification, dormant databases or repetitive service work. The useful question is not whether to add a bot, but where automation can improve an outcome without losing context or control.
The process should have explicit owners, definitions, service levels and exception paths. Technology can then support the model with automation and visibility. Starting with software before agreeing the operating rules usually digitises ambiguity.
